Went on a job interview. Now what?

I went on a job interview a week ago yesterday. While I was there, the plant manager loved me and said that she was going to call me without a doubt. She said that I was the perfect fit for the job and that she would need me to start as early as Wednesday. (2 days ago). I waited until 3:00 on Tuesday and gave her a call to see what the status of my application was. (she works til 3:30). Left a message with the secretary and the manager never called me back. I only called to followup because if she wanted me to work Wednesday like she mentioned I needed to get daycare for my 2 children. When I was at the interview she told me that she was going to talk to the owner of the company and see if the position I applied for could be made a managers position instead of just a lead position. She also mentioned that it is very hard to get in touch with the owner a lot of the times. Well now I don't know what to do. I feel as though I was mislead. Why tell me that I am the perfect fit and that you are going to call me and do NOTHING? Should I call back and try to contact her again or just assume I did not get the position? Please let me know. Im so stressed out. :-/
