Has the Erosion of Truthfulness in past 10yrs due to reality TV on a social level?

No one seems to be straight forward anymore. Always some game, misleading info, or deceit to everything. Since around 2000 I started noticing the change...Is it just me, or do other notice it's more acceptable and just the way things have evolved? I do live in SE Virginia, so maybe it's the area
